4. Blanch Evan was primarily a dance teacher. Although she was familiarized with the Adlerian theory (also know as individual psychology, which we covered in class, her main therapeutic approach relied on the client's physical condition. What was Blanch Evan's functional technique about?

In class, we saw a video in which dance-movement-therapist Laurienne Singer uses authentic-movement, a concept articulated by Mary Whitehouse, to work with a client recovering from a radical mastectomy. In your own view of this case-study, how is authentic-movement the best possible therapy to help her client recover full mobility of the affected area of her body?

6. Our class is framed by the concept of positive psychology. How is the concept of positive psychology related to the hero's journey as we explored it in class? Illustrate your answer with examples from your college journey.

7. Jon Kabat-Zinn is an American professor emeritus of medicine and the creator of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In class, we saw his video 9 Attitudes in which he lists the 9 attitudes of mindfulness: non-judging, patience, beginner's mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, letting go, gratitude and generosity. How do you think that mindfulness can positively affect one's self-transformation?

8. According to psychiatrist Daniel G. Amen, psychiatrists are the only doctors that never look at the brain to diagnose their patients with mental disorders. According to Amen, what is problematic about this? Explain why.
